Ceramic Mug Featuring an Atmospheric Digital Collage Image of The Summer Isles from Achiltibuie by Cath Waters

Cath's digital collages combine landscape photography with mixed media and photographed textures - creating atmospheric artwork reflecting the calm and solitude of special places in Scotland.

For Achiltibuie from the Summer Isles, Cath has used a photograph of the peeling paint on the side of an old fishing boat in theyard at Achiltibuie asthe lower layer of the image. The upper layer is lichen on the surface of one of the Kilmartin standing stones. She has digitally coloured and blended sections of the stones and lichen, and subtly blendedwith other textures to create the finished piece.
