Online is Always Open

Well, Christmas has come and gone as has 2020 (phew).  Here in Argyll, like the majority of Scotland, we’re a few weeks into our second lockdown, with tighter restrictions just announced, and as we write this, our gift shops are closed and have been since Christmas Day.

You can still shop online and have your orders delivered to your door - with FREE delivery over £20, and we continue to offer our free gift service (click and collect is also suspended due to the new COVID regulations).

Takeaway food orders are still permitted and our Sandwich Bar stars are keeping calm and carrying on.  The latest COVID regulations don’t allow customers inside, so we’ve placed a table in the entrance for now and are continuing to serve from the doorway.

We hope we say it often enough on our social media, but we are forever grateful to our customers, near and far for both their custom and continued support as we navigate our way through the pandemic and all that it throws at us.

Christmas was different - it’s usually a time where the shops are busy and bustling and we all enjoy being swept up in the excitement. This year we were certainly happy to be as busy as we were, but the excitement wasn’t there in its usual formas we focussed on the numbers in the shops, maintaining distances and following floor arrows – all whilst trying to effectively communicate with customers through the barriers of masks and screens.

We are so thankful to all of you who kept us going and gave us your patience and your understanding as we did our best to spread comfort and joy (and serve everyone as safely obviously!) It was really bittersweet to close the doors on Christmas Eve on a high.

From the weekend before the big day we took 50% off all our Christmas stock, and we offered 20% off everything else online for the first 10 days of January – our way of saying a great big Thank You and Happy New Year!   These promotions have kept us happily hectic up until now and it was really nice to be able to have some form of January Sale even with the shops closed.

So now is our time to start looking ahead to spring and lots of lovely new bits and pieces arriving to fill our shelves with colour for when we are allowed to reopen, again! We’ve already placed most of our orders for spring with all our favourite suppliers and we’re excited for you to see the new ranges and the breath of fresh air that they’re hopefully going to breathe into our wee shops.

We are getting all our new stock ready to go online as soon as they arrive! Look out for beautiful, fresh ranges from Gisela Graham, Emma Bridgewater, Powder and Brakeburn as well as new season cards from some of our favourite greetings card publishers.

After all, Spring means – Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter!

As we ponder which of these events we will be open for in Argyll, we promise you that when we do fling the storm doors open again – we will be so happy to see you and ready to show you everything that’s new and exciting.
